It Matters

And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, Philippians 1:9-10

The church in Philippi who are the recipients of Paul’s letter was near and dear to his heart. They helped in his ministry. He wanted this church to grow in their love for one another and in the knowledge of God so they could discern or distinguish how they should live as Christians in the 1st century. He wanted them to live in such a way that they would not be stumbling in sin or be a stumbling block to others who were trying to live the same way.

Christians today in the 21st century need to grow as well in our love for one another and discern how to live out our faith. The world is watching, our behavior must reflect what we claim to be. Our character should reflect Jesus Christ’s character. It matters how we live in front of others especially to those who don’t know him.
